Rivera (Campos Racing) and Sztuka (Griffin Core by Campos) to battle for runner-up honours this weekend in Barcelona, while Caranta, Tarnvanichkul –both in Red Bull-liveried Campos Racing cars– Carrasquedo Jr and Macedo –under the Griffin Core by Campos banner– also aim for strong finishes
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, located near the town of Granollers, will host this coming weekend the eighth and final round of the 2025 Eurocup-3 season. The Alzira-based team will head to the Catalan venue with a total of six cars. Ernesto Rivera, Jules Caranta and Enzo Tarnvanichkul will once again carry the Red Bull colours on their Tatuus cars. On the other hand, Griffin Core by Campos will field its entries for Kacper Sztuka, Jesse Carrasquedo Jr. and Francisco Macedo. All of them are determined to reach the top step of the podium and close the year in the best possible way.
In the drivers’ standings, both Rivera and Sztuka remain in contention for the runner-up position. The battle will be a three-way fight between the Mexican, currently third with 176 points, the Polish driver, fourth with 162, and Italy’s Valerio Rinicella, who holds second place with 185. Rivera, making his debut in Eurocup-3 after graduating from F4 Spain, has enjoyed an outstanding rookie season at continental level. The Red Bull Junior Team driver started with a podium on his series debut before claiming his maiden victory in Algarve. So far, Rivera has accumulated three wins and four podiums. Sztuka, representing Griffin Core by Campos, also knows what it feels like to win, having triumphed at Le Castellet. With five further podium finishes to his name, the Polish racer has been consistently strong and competitive throughout the season.
Another Mexican driver, Carrasquedo Jr, has also shone near the top of the classification. Fifth overall, the Griffin Core by Campos driver claimed victories at both Portimão and Spa-Francorchamps. Two more promising Red Bull talents, Caranta and Tarnvanichkul, approach the Barcelona round with optimism and high expectations. The Thai driver recently claimed his first Eurocup-3 victory in Jerez, ahead of his French teammate. Both have already stood on the podium multiple times, and with prior experience at the Catalan track, they will be eager to end the year from the rostrum once again. The same goes for Macedo, whose best result so far is a second place at Circuit Paul Ricard. The Portuguese driver will aim to match that level of performance and round off a promising campaign on a high note.
In the teams’ standings, Campos Racing sits second with 346 points, while Griffin Core by Campos follows closely in third on 315.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya needs little introduction. Since its inauguration in 1991, it has been home to the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix and has hosted nearly every major international championship visiting Spain. The current 4.657-kilometre layout was introduced in 2021, when the chicane in the final sector was removed, turning the last three right-hand corners into a key sequence for closing the gap to the car ahead and setting up overtakes along the long main straight. With autumn now in full swing, changing weather conditions cannot be ruled out given the circuit’s proximity to both the mountains and the sea.
On Saturday morning, qualifying session one will take place at 11:40, followed by race one at 15:10 (30 minutes plus one lap). On Sunday, qualifying two will start at 09:00 and the second and final race of the weekend, also 30 minutes plus one lap, is scheduled for 14:40. Both races will be streamed live on the Eurocup-3 YouTube channel.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “The curtain is about to fall on the Eurocup-3 season and we are looking forward to this finale in Barcelona. It’s a circuit that traditionally suits us very well, and the fact that all of our drivers have scored at least one podium this year is proof of the strength of our line-up. We’ll give everything to secure the biggest possible haul of points and finish as high as we can in both the drivers’ and teams’ standings. Our only goal is to wrap up the season in style.”
