The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will host the final round of the championship with Strauven already crowned champion and Przyrowski still in contention for the runner-up spot. Griffin Core by Campos will also aim to seal the Teams’ title, as they arrive in Barcelona with a comfortable lead in the standings
The 2025 F4 Spain season will come to an end this weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the venue for the final event of the campaign. With Thomas Strauven having already clinched the Drivers’ crown a few weeks ago in Cheste, his Griffin Core by Campos teammate, Polish driver Jan Przyrowski, remains in contention for second place overall. The Teams’ title could also be decided in Barcelona, with Griffin Core by Campos heading into the finale holding a healthy advantage. Matúš Ryba, driving another Griffin Core by Campos-run car, together with the Campos Racing trio of Noah Monteiro, Vivek Kanthan and Miguel Costa, will all be looking to carry the Alzira-based squad’s colors to the top once again.
If there has been one standout name this year, it is undoubtedly Strauven. The Belgian driver of Griffin Core by Campos secured the Drivers’ title in Valencia, thanks to an impressive record of nine victories and seven further podium finishes, having scored points in seventeen of the eighteen races held so far. With 345 points to his name, he approaches the final round with a 125-point advantage over his nearest rival, and his goal will be to extend his remarkable winning streak even further.
One of the main storylines in the Catalan finale will be the fight for the runner-up position. Przyrowski, currently sitting fourth in the standings with 188 points, bounced back from a difficult weekend in Jerez and added two more podium finishes in Valencia. The Polish driver has proven extremely fast in qualifying, taking seven pole positions so far this season—only bettered by Strauven, who has claimed nine.
Two of Campos Racing’s promising young talents, Monteiro and Kanthan, are both inside the overall top ten—eighth and tenth respectively—and also sit second and fourth in the Rookie Trophy. Both have stepped onto the podium several times this season and will be aiming to finish the year on a high, perhaps even climbing the outright rostrum. Brazilian driver Costa returned to the points in Cheste, where he secured a fine sixth place—his best result of the year so far—which should give him an extra boost heading into Barcelona. Meanwhile, Slovakia’s Ryba, racing under the Griffin Core by Campos banner, will also be looking to round off 2025 on a positive note.
In the Teams’ standings, as mentioned, Griffin Core by Campos approaches the Barcelona finale as the overall leader with 470 points, making it the clear favorite to secure the title. Campos Racing, on the other hand, currently holds fourth place.
The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, inaugurated in September 1991, has hosted the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix ever since. Measuring 4.657 kilometers in length, its long main straight is one of its signature features, allowing plenty of slipstreaming opportunities and encouraging overtaking—particularly in a highly competitive series like F4 Spain, where pack racing is often the norm.
The weekend schedule will kick off with free practice sessions on Saturday from 09:00, followed by the first qualifying session at 12:10. Race 1, set for 30 minutes plus one lap, will take place later that afternoon at 16:00. On Sunday, the second qualifying session will start at 08:30, with Race 2 (25 minutes + 1 lap) scheduled for 11:35. Finally, the third and last race of the season will get underway at 15:30, lasting 30 minutes plus one lap. All sessions will be streamed live on the championship’s official YouTube channel. All times are CET.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We head into this season finale in Barcelona in great spirits, having already secured the Drivers’ title with Thomas a few weeks ago. Now we are very close to achieving the same goal in the Teams’ standings with Griffin Core by Campos. Barcelona is a track that all drivers and teams know very well, so the gaps are likely to be extremely small. To make things even more interesting, it looks like there’s a chance of rain on Sunday, which could add an extra layer of uncertainty—especially with quite cool track temperatures expected. In any case, we’ll give it everything we have to finish the season in the best possible way.”
