There’s no rest in the racing calendar as the second round of the 2025 Eurocup-3 season is just around the corner, set to take place this weekend at the Algarve International Circuit. Griffin Core by Campos and Campos Racing will travel to southern Portugal, each team fielding three Tatuus F3 T-318 cars. This will be the first round held on the Iberian Peninsula and the only one in Portugal on this year’s calendar.

Griffin Core by Campos will enter its three cars for Kacper Sztuka, Jesse Carrasquedo, and Francisco Macedo. Undoubtedly, Sztuka was one of the standout performers during the season opener in Spielberg in mid-May. The Polish driver finished second in the first Austrian race and fifth on Sunday, placing him second in the overall championship standings with 28 points. Mexican driver Carrasquedo narrowly missed out on points in Race 1 but finished seventh in the second race. In Portimão, a track he knows well, the Griffin Core by Campos driver will be aiming for a podium finish. Meanwhile, morale will be sky-high for Francisco Macedo, who will be racing in front of his home crowd. There’s no better place than the Algarve to score his first points in Eurocup-3.

As for Campos Racing, its three Red Bull-liveried cars will be driven by Ernesto Rivera, Jules Caranta, and Enzo Tarnvanichkul. Rivera made a promising debut in the category, finishing third in the season-opening race and fighting for another podium in the second, where he ultimately placed sixth. The same can be said for Caranta, who claimed one of the pole positions at the Red Bull Ring and went on to secure his first Eurocup-3 podium. Rivera and Caranta are currently fourth and sixth in the drivers’ standings with 23 and 17 points, respectively. Thai driver Tarnvanichkul already collected his first points in Austria and will be looking to continue progressing with stronger results in this second round.

In the teams' standings, Campos Racing and Griffin Core by Campos sit second and third with 40 and 34 points, respectively.

Measuring 4.653 kilometers, the Algarve International Circuit is often compared to Spa-Francorchamps and is praised by drivers for its blind corners, constant elevation changes, and even the unpredictable weather due to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. Forecasts for the upcoming days suggest sunny skies and high temperatures, making heat management a likely challenge for both drivers and tires. The downhill braking zone at the end of the main straight is always a hotspot for overtaking opportunities, as is the iconic left-hander Torre Vip, one of the circuit’s most emblematic corners.

Drivers will take to the track for free practice on Saturday at 10:55, with the first qualifying session scheduled for 13:05. Later that afternoon, Race 1 will begin at 15:25 and is expected to last 30 minutes plus one lap. On Sunday, the second qualifying session will take place at 10:30, followed by Race 2 at 13:50, also lasting 35 minutes plus one lap. Both races will be livestreamed on the Eurocup-3 YouTube channel. All times are in Central European Summer Time (CEST).

Adrián Campos (Campos Racing Team Principal): “After the strong start we had in Spielberg, we’re heading to Portimão determined to take another step forward. It promises to be as demanding a weekend as the season opener, although this circuit is quite different from the Red Bull Ring. That said, the gaps were very close during the Winter Series, so as usual in this championship, everything will come down to the smallest of details. The goal is to leave Portugal with as many points as possible, especially now that the championship is gathering momentum, with two rounds in just fifteen days.”
