Campos Racing is thrilled ahead of the inaugural race weekend of the Eurocup-3, the new category starting on the European motorsport scene in 2023. The Spanish racing team will run four Tatuus F.3 T-318 cars for the first round out of eight scheduled on the Pan-European calendar. The season will get underway at Spa-Francorchamps next weekend, with seven more events taking place at Motorland Aragon (27-28 May), Monza (10-11 June), Zandvoort (15-16 July), Jerez (24-25 September), Estoril (30 September-1 October), Cheste (14-15 October) and Barcelona (11-12 November).

The Tatuus machinery, which is powered by a 270hp Alfa Romeo-Autotecnica engine, will use an updated body kit, a new intercooler and a battery kit. Besides, the updated car is 25kg lighter than the standard car, all aimed at making it quicker on track. Last but not least, a push-to-pass system will be fitted.

Francesco Braschi, Tasanapol Inthaphuvasak, Esteban Masson and Suleiman Zanfari will defend the Campos Racing colors in the new series. Frenchman Masson was crowned Champion in the French F4 Championship in 2021, and the Eurocup-3 is a step forward in his racing career. Similarly, Thai Inthraphuvasak, Italian Braschi and Moroccan Zanfari join the field with excellent prospects after scoring promising results in different single-seater series, mainly F4-based ones. All the four drivers got their first taste of the new car during a two-day test held at Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo in late April. Masson, Inthaphuvasak, Braschi and Zanfari did put under their belts valuable mileage and completed a number of qualifying and long runs simulations.

Spa-Francorchamps is a true rollercoaster in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. The historic venue of the F1 Grand Prix will be a tough challenge for everybody, particularly due to its changeable weather conditions.

The schedule includes two test sessions of 40 minutes each on Thursday. On Friday, both qualifying sessions will take place at 14.25 and 14.48 and Race 1 is set to start at 17.20. Race 2 is scheduled on Saturday morning at 09.15. Both races will consist of 30 minutes plus one lap each and will be streamed live on YouTube.

Adrián Campos (Campos Racing Team Principal): “We are delighted to take up this new challenge in the Eurocup-3, a new category allowing us to compete at world-class circuits. Besides, it’s going to be very helpful for our young drivers in order to continue learning. We have four talented young drivers and our goal is to fight for frontrunner positions from the scratch. It’s always pretty special to compete at Spa-Francorchamps, and this won’t an exception.”

Esteban Masson (Campos Racing Driver of Eurocup-3): “I feel super happy, excited and lucky to be driving for Campos Racing at iconic Spa-Francorchamps. I’m really looking forward to kicking off the first round of 2023. I can’t wait until get on track.”
