The FIA Formula 2 Championship has scheduled an eight-event calendar with the FIA Formula 3 Championship provisional calendar comprised of seven race weekends. Both series will see a new format with three races per weekend
Both series will not longer visit the same Formula 1 weekends as a new format has been introduced as a consequence of cost-cutting measures due to COVID-19 pandemic. The FIA Formula 2 and its sister series, the FIA Formula 3, will alternate between Grand Prix meetings. Despite a reduction of its number of rounds, eight in the case of the FIA F2 and seven for the FIA F3, each event will host three races per weekend instead of two, and it will ensure at least the same number of races throughout the season.
The 2021 FIA Formula 2 season will kick off at Bahrain in March before heading to Monte Carlo for the iconic Monegasque event. Baku, Silverstone, Monza and Sochi will also host rounds before visiting Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) for the very first time. Yas Marina will bring the curtain down on the season in December.
The FIA Formula 3 will have its season opener in Barcelona in May and the European tour will continue by visiting Le Castellet, Spielberg, Budapest, Spa-Francorchamps and Zandvoort. The season finale will take place across the pond in Austin.
