The 2016 pre-season GP2 tests start for Campos Racing

A three-day test at Yas Marina with the Alzira-based team carrying out valuable work on the cars driven by Sean Gelael and Mitch Evans

The opening GP2 Series preseason testing of the 2016 season kicked off this week at the Yas Marina Circuit with Campos Racing fielding its two Dallara GP2/11 cars. The Jakarta-born driver Sean Gelael and New Zealander Mitch Evans Mitch Evans took a massive step forward during test days.

Indonesian Gelael kept improving every day at the wheel of his Campos Racing-entered car. On the final day of testing when Gelael was trying his best lap attempt on fresh tires, his car suffered massive understeer preventing from improving lap time set on old tires. Regarding Evans, the driver from New Zealand even took P1 in the time charts on Friday, proving why he is one of the most reputed GP2 moments at the moment.

Konstantin Tereschenko, who finished vice-champion in the Euroformula Open, also drove one of the cars on Wednesday following his awesome performance in F3 throughout the season.
