The Spain-based team will be entering their two CUPRA TCR cars for Pepe Oriola and John Filippi at Ningbo
The FIA World Touring Car Cup enters the hot phase of the season with just four round remaining. The Asian leg of the WTCR includes four venues in China (Ningbo y Wuhan), Japan (Suzuka) and Macau (Circuito da Guia) and Team Oscaro by Campos Racing look to finish the 2018 in style.
Spaniard Pepe Oriola sits seventh on 154 points in the Drivers’ standings after scoring his maiden win in the series in Slovakia Ring, just before the summer break. Oriola also secured other podium finishes in his CUPRA TCR car: second at Nurburgring and two third places at Vila Real. Corsican John Filippi showed excellent pace but not always managed to translate it into points. Filippi achieved his season-best sixth-place in Slovakia and feels very optimistic for the rounds ahead. Last but not least, Team Oscaro by Campos Racing ranks sixth in Teams’ championship on 177 points.
The Ningbo International Circuit opened its doors in 2017. The 4.015 km features 22 corners and runs an anti-clockwise direction.
Saturday’s race 1 takes place at 15.30 with two other races scheduled on Sunday at 14.20 and 15.50. They are local times.
