Pertamina Campos Racing sets high goals entering Yas Marina GP2 finale

Indonesia´s Sean Gelael and New Zealand´s Mitch Evans to finish season on high note in Abu Dhabi

The 11-event GP2 Series season will come to an end next weekend at its traditional season-ender held at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Pertamina Campos Racing and their duo of Indonesian Sean Gelael and New Zealander Mitch Evans has achieved several podium visits throughout the season with an impressive 1-2 finish at Red Bull Ring during Saturday´s feature race.

Gelael and Evans will get another chance to shine at Yas Marina Circuit, the 5.554km track with its characteristic sequence of bends in the first sector. Then, the drivers move through the longest straight and head to Turn 11, the largest G felt braking for the drivers and at the same time an important overtaking chance with T8. Then, a final sector of curves sequence requires a well-balanced car to set competitive lap times.

Evans scored points in three of the last four races and arrives in Abu Dhabi ready to fight for another strong result, just like Gelael.

Friday will be devoted to free practice and qualifying, which will take place at 08.15 and 16.10, local time. Then, on Saturday race 1 is slated to start at 15.40 and on Sunday race 2 is scheduled at 11.20.
