The Italian driver set the fastest time on Monday driving the Campos Racing-run Dallara F3 2019. Alessandro Famularo, Pierre Louis Chovet, Rafael Villagomez and William Alatalo also performed well with the Spanish-based team
Campos Racing and five young talents completed two satisfactory post-season collective tests of the FIA Formula 3 Championship at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The Spanish outfit entered its three cars for Alessandro Famularo, who ran in Campos Racing colours both days, and Matteo Nannini, Pierre Louis Chovet, Rafael Villlagomez and William Alatalo, they all completing a single day of testing each.
Nannini was the dominating force on Monday as the Italian driver set the fastest lap time throughout the day in his Campos Racing-entered Dallara F3 car. Nannini, who is the nephew of former F1 driver and DTM star Alessandro Nannini, clocked a lap time of 1m32.170s in the morning, Nannini’s reference time was almost three tenths quicker than his closest rival. Chovet also secured a top-ten finish in the afternoon with Famularo also making solid progress and lowering his lap times consistently.
On Tuesday, Mexican Villagomez and Alatalo joined Famularo for the final two sessions. In the morning, Finland’s Alatalo was the fastest man of Campos Racing with his lap time of 1m33.079s with Famularo setting the reference mark for the Spanish-based team in the afternoon with a lap time of 1m35.484s.
A second collective testing will take place in Jerez on October 27-28.
