Argentina’s Siebert takes third place finish in Andalusia after finishing fourth on Saturday. Florescu collects points in both races
Campos Racing and Marcos Siebert delivered a strong performance during Round 7 of the Euroformula F3 Open. Siebert and Petru Florescu showed competitive form from the very beginning in their Campos Racing Dallara F312 cars.
Siebert made it into the top-five on Friday after three free practice sessions and Florescu rapidly adapted to the car on his comeback to the Spain-based team. For Saturday, Siebert impressed setting strong, consistently unmatched pace to grab the pole position time with his 1m35.869s. However Siebert couldn’t enjoy to start from pole position as he was given a three-place grid penalty at Monza.
Florescu lined up eighth on the starting grid with his lap time of 1m36.447s. In the afternoon, Siebert took the checkered flag in fourth place with his Romanian teammate finishing 8th.
Siebert headed into Q2 with good spirits and qualified third clocking a time of 1m36.129s. Florescu repeated a fourth row start with his 1m36.328s. Later in race 2, Siebert ran in podium races for the entire race and stepped third onto the podium afterwards. Florescu came ninth.
The final round of the series will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in two weeks’ time.
