Both Mahindra Racing drivers, whose M3ELECTRO cars are run by Campos Racing, enter the second round of the FIA Formula E in the streets of Marrakech. Heidfeld scored 3rd place finish and Rosenqvist set the fastest lap in Hong Kong
The Marrakesh ePrix marks the second venue of the FIA Formula E and the first race of the series on the African continent. The world´s first fully-electric racing series pays its first-time visit to Morocco and Mahindra Racing expects a strong performance based on what the team achieved at the FIA Formula E´s season opener in Hong Kong. The two M3ELECTRO cars run by Campos Racing showed an extremely competitive pace in Asia and Germany´s Nick Heidfeld stepped third onto the podium and Sweden´s Felix Rosenqvist, a debutant in the series, set the fastest lap.
The Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan is the longest race on the calendar and the second longest track used by the FIA Formula E as only the Beijing Olympic Park layout was longer. The track based in the Red City is the same used in the World Touring Car Championship and therefore a well-known for Campos Racing given his experience in the series. Considering the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan has plenty of extremely fast sections, energy management should be a key factor over the weekend.
Two free practice sessions will be held on Saturday morning at 08.00 and 10.30 and qualifying is due to start at 12.00. The Marrakesh ePrix is slated at 16.00. All times are local.
