The FIA Formula E, the first all-electric racing series , will kick off its third season in Hong Kong next weekend. The Asian city is a new addition to the calendar and it will host its season opener for the FIA Formula E. The calendar consists of nine events visiting Hong Kong, Marrakech, Buenos Aires, Mexico, City, Monaco, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, New York and Montreal, both North American venues hosting two races each instead of a single one.
Once again, Mahindra Racing Formula E Team´s M3ELECTRO cars will be run by Campos Racing. Its seasoned staff of engineers and teams will be an important factor in order to meet the ambitious goals set for current 2016-2017 campaign. Germany´s Nick “Quick” Heidfeld and newcomer Sweden´s Felix Rosenqvist will be a strong driver line up and a perfect mix of experience, speed and talent.
The Hong Kong Central Harbourfront Circuit faces the Victoria Harbour in the city´s Central district. Considering the urban track is set against the iconic skyline it promises to be an exciting and unpredictable season opener.
Weekend´s schedule will be compressed again. Free practice will take place early on Sunday, with qualifying session taking place 12.00 (local time). Super Pole will be held shortly after at 12.45. The FIA Formula HKT Hong Kong ePrix wil get underway at 16.00.
