Campos Vexatec Racing off to strong FIA Formula 2 start in Bahrain

The two Campos Vexatec drivers Ghiotto and Nissany are looking to continue the positive momentum in their Dallara F2 2018 cars

Campos Vexatec Racing is set to kick off the 2018 FIA Formula 2 campaign in Sakhir as the season-opening round takes place next weekend. The Spain-based team can look forward to an exciting season fielding a new driver line-up of Luca Ghiotto and Roy Nissany.

Both Campos Vexatec Racing drivers accomplished in preseason testing everything they needed to do in order to start the year in brilliant style. Ghiotto often ranked in the top five showing excellent adaptation to the new car and Nissany also made massive improvement over the course of the FIA Formula 2 preseason testing on his debut in the main F1-feeder series.

Last but not least, the series’ only Spanish team confirmed itself as a force at the Bahrain International Circuit in recent seasons claiming wins and podium finishes.

High temperatures of Bahrain make the asphalt extremely abrasive, which increases tire wear, with sand also affecting grip. Besides, the circuits features four fast straights and several slow corners, so it requires a compromise set-up.

Saturday’s feature race will take place at 12.10 (CET) and Sunday’s sprint race is scheduled at 13.15 (CET).
