Campos Vexatec Racing hopes to reach new heights in Baku

Ghiotto and Nissany eye to enjoy strong weekend at the fastest street circuit of the season in the frame of the Azerbaijani Grand Prix

Campos Vexatec Racing heads to Azerbaijan for the second round of the 2018 FIA Formula 2 season. The streets of the Azerbaijani capital Baku plays host to the fastest street circuit on the calendar and Luca Ghiotto and Roy Nissany are ready to put up a very tough fight in their Campos Vexatec Racing Dallara F2 2018 cars.

Ghiotto and Nissany made a strong start to the season in Bahrain. Italian Ghiotto was a genuine podium contender in Sakhir and expects the hard work has created the momentum to achieve a rostrum finish in Baku. Nissany started on the right foot in the main Formula 1 feeder series. The Formula 2 newcomer showed competitive pace in the season-opening races and it will be valuable baseline to take a positive approach on the weekends to come.

Baku was included on the calendar for the first time in 2016. Since then, Campos Vexatec Racing recorded consecutive points paying finishes there.

The Baku Street Circuit is characterized by low-grip asphalt. Besides, slow corners in the first and middle sector could be a kind of Monaco, but its main straight is two kilometers long so the Azerbaijani circuit is much more about braking than the iconic Monegasque layout.

Saturday’s race 1 with mandatory pit stop is scheduled at 10.00 (CET) and race 2 will take place on Sunday at 11.10 (CET).
