Italian Pulcini finished in the Qualifying Race top-ten driving the Campos Racing-entered Dallara F3 2019. Ahmed put in a good recovery drive on Sunday after an early retirement yesterday with Deledda also making it to the finish
Campos Racing and its three drivers gave a strong display at the FIA F3 World Cup in Macau, whose Guia circuit hosted the 66th Macau Grand Prix. Leonardo Pulcini, Enaam Ahmed and Alessio Deledda completed a strong weekend in their Dallara F3 2019 cars defending the Campos Racing colors.
On Thursday, Italian Pulcini clocked a lap time of 2m08.287s, which was 11th-fastest in the timesheets, in Q1. Further adrift, Briton Ahmed set a lap time of 2m09.211s and Italian Deledda posted a time of 2m12.991s. On Friday, Ahmed improved in Q2 his best effort from Thursday to produce a lap of 2m07.146s and would line up 20th on the starting grid. Unfortunately, Pulcini couldn’t set a quicker lap time following an incident and it forced him to start from the back of the field with Deledda.
The Qualifying Race saw a characteristic first-lap incident in which Ahmed got involved and he retired from the race. Pulcini avoided any clash with rivals and took the checkered flag in tenth place after 10 laps. Deledda ended up in 24th place. Today, Pulcini also made a nice race start and moved up to seventh in the early stages of the race. But after three laps he crashed into the wall at Lisboa, while fighting with a rival, and it prevented him from making it to the finish. Briton Ahmed crossed the finish line in 22nd place with Deledda three places adrift.
