Campos Racing resumes F.2 season at Spa-Francorchamps

Boschung and Visoiu will hit the track once again for Round 8 of the 2017 season

After a four-week hiatus for the summer break, the FIA Formula 2 resumes at the magnificent Spa-Francorchamps Circuit in the heart of the Ardennes region. The iconic Spa-Francorchamps will host round eight of the season and Switzerland’s Ralph Boschung and Romania’s Robert Visoiu head to Belgium targeting a maximum points haul.

With 11 points to his credit, Boschung made it into the points at Baku Circuit and Red Bull Ring. On the other hand, Visoiu almost scored his first points three times by finishing 11th after joining Campos Racing in Monte Carlo.

The Alzira-based team took a second place finish at Spa back in 2015. The Belgian rollercoaster is the longest circuit of the year at 7.004 kilometres with numerous uphill and downhill passages such as Eau Rouge. It’s all about set-up compromise between low downforce for straights and high downforce for its tight bends. Besides, usual unpredictable weather adds further spice to this weekend as teams and drivers struggle with pit strategy.

Both free practice and qualifying sessions take place at 11.55 and 16.20 respectively on Friday. Then, Saturday’s feature race is scheduled at 16.00 and Sunday’s Sprint race at 10.15. All times are in local time zone.
