Jack Aitken and Guilherme Samaia concluded a positive three-day programme during official FIA Formula 2 preseason testing at Sakhir’s Bahrain International Circuit
Campos Racing has brought the curtain down on the first 2020 FIA Formula 2 collective testing, which was held Sakhir these last three days. Jack Aitken and Guilherme Samaia posted promising lap times at the wheel of their Campos Racing-entered Dallara F2 2018 cars, which ran like clockwork, finishing on a positive note.
Aitken and Samaia made a good start on Sunday before increasing the performance on the following two days. Anglo-Korean Aitken finished 6th on the timesheets on Monday with a personal best time of 1m41.706s, which was set in the afternoon session. Brazilian Samaia also made it into the top-ten in the morning. On the final day, Aitken lowered his best time to 1m41.568s to emerge as third-fastest driver overall. Samaia also produced his best time on Tuesday.
The FIA Formula 2 Championship will kick the 2020 season off in three weeks’ time at the Bahrain International Circuit.
