Álex Palou, Steijn Schothorst, they both taking their best results of the season at Silverstone with Spain´s young ace stepping onto the podium, and Konstantin Tereschenko aim to fight for top places in Hungary
Hungaroring will provide another proper litmus test for Campos Racing following their amazing podium finish achieved at Silverstone under difficult and changeable weather conditions. Hungaroring, near to Budapest, is a bit of a Mickey Mouse track offering precious few overtaking opportunities and where it is even more important to qualify as high as possible. More importantly, the Hungarian circuit features a new surface and maybe it could give some new passing lines and enabled grip in dry conditions.
Spain´s Álex Palou, Holland´s Steijn Schothorst and Russia´s Konstantin Tereschenko will defend Campos Racing´s colors once again. Palou and Schothorst put in brilliant drives at Silverstone. The latter came fifth on Sunday and his Spanish teammate, who led for almost the entire race, finally took the checkered flag second. Tereschenko, struggling with overheating problems on Saturday, started from the back of the field but clinched another big comeback to be 13th in race 2.
On this occasion, Pirelli has selected medium tire compound as it is expected to be the smartest decision considering there is only a short main straight and traction, braking and lateral forces are key factors at Hungaroring.
On Friday, drivers will hit track for the very first time with free practice session scheduled at 17.50 (CET). Early on Sunday morning, 09.45 (CET), qualifying will take place ahead of race one, which is expected to start at 17.20 (CET). Race 2 is slated at 09.15 on Sunday.
