Campos Racing looking to keep up the momentum coming into Hungaroring

Pulcini, Laaksonen and Menchaca are ready to contest another round of the GP3 Series in Hungary, probably one of the most action packed events of the season

The GP3 Series heads to Hungary for the last round prior to the mid-year summer break with Campos Racing also passing the halfway point of the season at the Hungaroring. The Spain-based team will enter its three Dallara GP3/16 cars for Leonardo Pulcini, Simo Laaksonen and Diego Menchaca.

Pulcini is delivering a superb performance throughout the season for Campos Racing. The Italian racer currently sits third in the Drivers’ Standings on 73 points with two podium finishes to his name at the Red Bull Ring. More importantly, Pulcini scored points in every race but one. Finland’s Laaksonen and Mexico’s Menchaca are also nicely working to bring the first half of the GP3 Series to a positive close after make it into the points on several previous occasions.

Braking and traction are the two main areas where the teams must focus at the Hungaroring. Despite high temperatures normally characterize the Hungarian venue, in advance of the storms forecast for Sunday Campos Racing’s engineers and drivers are ready for this worst-case scenario.

Saturday’s race 1 is due to take place at 18.30 (CET) with race 2 scheduled on Sunday at 10.05 (CET).
