The Spain-based team will aim at continuing its podium streak in the FIA Formula 3 Championship as Round 2 takes place in Spielberg this weekend
Campos Racing is ready for the second venue of the 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship season, which will be held at Red Bull Ring this weekend. The Austrian venue will host a round of the Formula 1’s third-tier feeder series for the second consecutive weekend in which it is a non-stop season.
The single Spanish team in the FIA F3 championship achieved its first podium of the season just a few days ago, which means it got started on the right foot. As expected, there are very tight gaps at the front but Aussie Alex Peroni delivered a faultless driving to bring a third place home on Saturday. A loss of power dashed his chances on Sunday when he was in podium contention again.
German female driver Sophia Flörsch and Italian Alessio Deledda also showed promising pace in Race 2 with both putting in remarkable recovery drives. Flörsch and Deledda will focus on improving even further their performances coming into the second Austrian venue.
Just like the previous weekend, the 4,318-meter circuit is so short that traffic often plays a key role, mainly in qualifying to get space for a clean flying lap. Anyway, Red Bull Ring is a circuit in which it isn’t difficult to get in the slipstream of the car in front in order to make it easier to overtake.
Practice and qualifying sessions will take place at 09.35 and 14.05 respectively on Friday. Race 1 is scheduled on Saturday at 10.25 with race 2 bringing the curtain down on Sunday at 09.45. All times are CET.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We are pleased with season finally kicking off last weekend and everything went according our plan. Of course, on the racing side we expect everything will further improve with another week of work at Red Bull Ring. We have just got to keep on putting everything together from our side.”
