Alex Peroni, Sebas Fernández and Alessio Deledda seek confirmation at the Red Bull Ring as the Spanish outfit arrives in Spielberg with a positive outlook after the competitive pace shown in Le Castellet
Campos Racing is ready for another closely-fought round of the FIA Formula 3 Championship. The feeder series heads to Spielberg for its third round of the 2019 season in the frame of the Austrian Grand Prix. The three Dallara F3 2019 in Campos Racing colors will be driven by the talented driver line-up of Alex Peroni, Sebastián Fernández and Alessio Deledda.
Peroni scored his first points of the season in Le Castellet with an eight place finish, which also secured the pole positon on Race 2’s partially-reversed grid for Sunday. The Australian driver led the race until the halfway point when started to struggle with tire wear. Peroni expects to leave Austria with a good points haul on Sunday.
Fernández’s race 1 in France was a performance of pure skill with the Spaniard putting in a solid recovery drive from the back of the field. Unfortunately Fernández was forced to retire when he was running in 8th place due to a clash. Therefore, he is also eager to pick up some points coming into the weekend.
Italian Deledda will continue his learning curve in the FIA Formula 3 Championship and he sets his sights on setting his best result of the season.
The Red Bull Ring, the iconic circuit in the heart of the Styrian Mountains, was previously known as Österreichring and A1 Ring. Despite the track has changed in-depth, its nature remains the same with several blind corners and an ultra-fast layout.
Friday is devoted to free practice and qualifying sessions at 09.35 and 17.50. Saturday’s Race 1 will start at 10.25 and Sunday’s Race 2 will bring the curtain down at 09.35. All times are local (GMT+2).
