Campos Racing hopes to end FIA F3 season in style

The Spanish-based racing team will be contesting the season finale at Mugello with its trio of Alex Peroni, Sophia Flörsch and Alessio Deledda, the latter competing on his home turf for a second consecutive weekend

The non-stop 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship season will come to an end next weekend at Mugello, the Italian venue hosting the F1 Tuscan Grand Prix to bring the curtain down on the campaign with another double-header. The third tier of Formula 1 feeder series is expecting two other closely-fought races with Campos Racing aiming to race hard with its young rooster comprised of Alex Peroni, Sophia Flörsch and Alessio Deledda.

Peroni is completing a very remarkable season in which the Australian driver has become a regular podium visitor. Peroni has secured three rostrum finishes on very different circuits such as the Red Bull Ring, Silverstone and Barcelona. Aussie Peroni shone on the straights of Monza in his Campos Racing-entered Dallara F3 car with a fifth place on Sunday after starting from the back of the field. German Flörsch scored his best result of the season last weekend and the promising female start has set her sights on following the same positive way. Italian Deledda will race in his home country for a second consecutive weekend and aims to finish the season on a high note.

Mugello Circuit, located near to the town of Borgo San Lorenzo, was added to the revised 2020 FIA F3 calendar following the COVID-19 pandemic and almost 3,000 fans will be let to attend the event for the very first time this season. Mugello was built in 1973 and opened in 1974 and its layout has 15 turns and a famous 1.141 long straight. Besides, the corners at named after farms that were in the area before the track was constructed.

Practice and qualifying sessions will take place at 09.35 and 14.05 respectively on Friday. Race 1 is scheduled on Saturday at 10.25 with race 2 bringing the curtain down on Sunday at 10.30. All times are CET.
