The Briton is set to replace George Russell at Williams Racing for the F1 season finale, as his fellow countryman will step into Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes
Campos Racing would like to congratulate Jack Aitken as the Anglo-Korean will make his Formula 1 Grand Prix debut in Sakhir, which will be hosting the final round of the season this weekend. Aitken, who is a Williams Racing reserve driver, will replace George Russell to drive his Williams FW43. At the same time, Mercedes has drafted in Russell to replace World Champion Lewis Hamilton, who was tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday in Bahrain, in one of the Mercedes W11 cars.
Aitken, who has defended the Campos Racing colors in the last two FIA Formula 2 seasons, joins the list of Campos Racing drivers stepping up to Formula 1. Previously, Fernando Alonso, Vitaly Petrov, Rio Haryanto or Marc Gené also made their debut in F1 after competing with Campos Racing in different single-seater series.
Campos Racing will announce a new driver to pair with Brazilian Guilherme Samaia shortly.
