Kari and Samaia carried out a satisfactory post-season testing in their Campos Racing-run Dallara cars
Campos Racing officially ended its 2019 campaign as the FIA Formula 2 Championship hosted its third and final day of post-season testing at the Yas Marina Circuit yesterday. The Spain-based took part with their two Dallara F2 2018 cars driven by the pair of young drivers Niko Kari and Guilherme Samaia.
Finnish Kari made it into the top-ten on Thursday with a lap time of 1m51.963s, which was a nice start to the testing. Samaia steadily improved his lap times throughout the week and the Brazilian posted a personal best of 1m52.276s on Friday. Similarly, as lap times were falling down each session, Kari also clocked a lap time of 1m51.032s. On the final day, Samaia still managed to beat his lap time from Friday with his 1m52.223s.
The 2019 season saw a strong performance coming from Campos Racing as the Spanish outfit scored three race wins and other four podium finishes with Jack Aitken, who ranked 5th in the Drivers’ standings. Campos Racing also finished in fifth place in the Teams’ standings.
