The Spanish-based racing team made it into the top-five as Jonathan Hoggard finished fifth on day two at Circuito de Jerez. David Vidales, Petr Ptáček and Alessandro Famularo also delivered strong performances in the FIA F3 collective testing
Campos Racing finished the second FIA Formula 3 collective testing held at Circuito de Jerez on a high note and the Spanish team is full of optimism after its productive results. Four young talents drove the Campos Racing-entered Dallara F3 2019 cars throughout both days: David Vidales, Jonathan Haggard, Petr Ptáček and Alessandro Famularo.
On Tuesday, Spanish emerging-star Vidales clocked a lap time of 1m30.541s in the afternoon despite traffic forced to abort several of his flying laps attempts. Czech driver Ptáček posted a very promising best lap of 1m31.159s also in the afternoon session with Venezuelan Famularo setting a best lap of 1m31.390s.
The final day saw Briton Hoggard making a strong first outing with Campos Racing. In the morning session Hoggard finished eighth-fastest (1m29.514s) and moved into the top-five in the afternoon with his lap of 1m30.543s. Vidales and Famularo continued improving their lap times on Day 2. In fact, the Spaniard also lapped in the 1m29s in the morning.
Campos Racing can draw a positive conclusion from the second collective FIA F3 test and the four drivers showed an extremely competitive level for a potential 2021 campaign in the series.
