The second collective test of the F1-feeder series came to an end today in Barcelona with both Campos Racing-run cars showing top form
Campos Racing concluded today the second preseason testing of FIA Formula 2 and engines will remain silent until the season opener in Bahrain at the end of this month. Both Dallara F2 cars of Campos Racing were driven by Jack Aitken and Roberto Merhi at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
They were busy days of testing with Aitken and Merhi putting extensive mileage under their belt. On Tuesday, Aitken posted the 4th-fastest time with a lap of 1m28.928s in the morning session with Merhi clocking a time of 1m29.752s. On day 2, Aitken completed 84 laps and the Briton and his Spanish teammate improved their times from Tuesday with laps of 1m28.170s and 1m28.743s respectively. Today, Aitken lapped under the 1:28 barrier to set a time of 1m27.817s with Merhi also bettering to a 1m28.209s.
The season will kick off at the Bahrain International Circuit on March 30-31.
