The Spanish outfit will enter a three-car armada for Alex Peroni, Alessio Deledda and Sophia Flörsch in the third-tier of the Formula 1 feeder series
Campos Racing is ready for another exciting, closely-fought racing season as the 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship will be getting underway at Red Bull Ring this weekend. The Spain-based team heads to Austria for the curtain raiser event with a trio of young talents consisting of Alex Peroni, Alessio Deledda and Sophia Flörsch at the wheel of its Dallara F3 cars.
The FIA F3 venue in Spielberg, which will take place in the frame of the F1 Grand Prix, will kick off the season with a double-header and, just one week later the Red Bull Ring will host the second round of the season. Therefore, it will be extremely important to make a strong start to the season. Australian Peroni, Italian Deledda and German Flörsch showed competitive pace in preseason testing and their results were a good foundation for the season ahead, which will be harder than ever with thirty drivers coming from all around the world.
The Red Bull Ring, which is 4,318 meters long, returned in 2014 in its current guise. First and second sectors are extremely fast with the layout flowing through the Styrian Mountains with a third sector more technically demanding and slower. Lap times are usually very tight due to the nature of the circuit. Regarding set-up priorities, both traction and braking are two particular areas in which a car has to be strong at Red Bull Ring. Last but not least, despite mild summer temperatures, the weather is always a key factor with the possibility of rain.
Practice and qualifying sessions will take place at 09.35 and 14.05 respectively on Friday. Race 1 is scheduled on Saturday at 10.25 with race 2 closing the curtain down on Sunday at 09.45. All times are CET.
