Boschung and the Spanish team decide to terminate their contract with one round remaining.
Ralph Boschung and the Campos Racing team have agreed to go their separate ways ahead of this month’s FIA Formula 2 Championship season finale in Abu Dhabi.
Despite a challenging rookie campaign in the Formula 1 feeder series, the Swiss ace still managed to secure pole position in Baku, as well as three points finishes.
Although Boschung and the Spanish outfit have decided to end their partnership with a round remaining, the 20-year-old is already looking ahead to the future.
“My time with Campos Racing has helped me develop a lot as a driver, and also as a person,” Boschung said.
“It was my debut season in the ultra-competitive FIA Formula 2 Championship, so I was expecting a strong challenge. Still, I’ve had some great moments and would like to thank Adrián Campos and his team for their efforts this season. I wish them the best of luck.”
Adrián Campos, CEO of Campos Racing, said: “Ralph delivered strong performances considering it was his maiden season in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, Formula 1’s main feeder series. I´m looking forward to working with him in the future, as I’m sure he has a brilliant motorsport career ahead of him.”
Whilst Boschung won’t be finishing the Formula 2 season, he believes that this move will bring up new possibilities, which he is currently exploring for 2018.
