Argentina, starting point of new WTCC season for Campos Racing

With two Chevrolets RML Cruze TC1 to be driven by Hugo Valente and John Filippi, Campos Racing begins a new season in the World Touring Car Championship where the team will race all over the world.

Curtain-raiser event for the World Touring Car Championship taking place in a completely different location compared to previous years, as the series start in Argentina. The track called Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo, located in the city of the same name, will be the starting point for Campos Racing. The only Spanish team participating in the series will field two Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 units to be driven by Hugo Valente and John Filippi.

Valente approaches his second full-time season at the wheel of the Chevrolet and, after his experience last year – claiming three podium finishes-, the Frenchman aims for the best results possible. On the other hand this will be the rookie season in TC1 for Filippi but the Corsican already performed pretty well in TC2 last year, ranking 2nd overall in class. Either Valente or Filippi will fight for Yokohama Independents Drivers Trophy honors facing new challenges against experienced drivers such as Tom Chilton, Tom Coronel, Stefano D´Aste or Norbert Michelisz.

Both free practice and qualifying sessions take place on Saturday with the races scheduled at 15.15 and 16.30, local time, on Sunday.
