Campos Racing and its five-car army in the F4 Spain Championship are ready for the third round of the 2022 season, a very special appointment on the calendar as it will take place in Cheste, only a few kilometers away from Campos Racing’s facilities.

The Spanish squad will expect to continue the same winning streak already seen in Algarve and Jerez. At the moment, Campos Racing and their drivers have transformed themselves into the dominant force having won four out of six races in their halo-shod Tatuus T-021 cars. The Campos Racing-entered single-seaters will be driven by Nikola Tsolov, Hugh Barter, Georg Kelstrup, Filip Jenić and new addition of Portuguese driver Manuel Espirito Santo.

Tsolov took the drivers’ championship lead in Jerez after winning two races in Jerez and finishing second in the third one. The “Bulgarian Lion” claimed his maiden win in Algarve and sits first in the standings on 95 points. Japanese-Australian Barter is lying in third place on 65 points with two podium finishes, including a triumph at the curtain-raiser event.

Denmark’s Kelstrup is another driver in regular podium contention as he secured his season’s best result so far in Jerez by finishing in second place. Kelstrup currently holds fifth place. Serbian Jenić rounds off the excellent form of Campos Racing in the first part of the season as he already stepped onto podium in second place. Portuguese Espirito Santo will be another valuable addition to the F4 Spain rooster as he is very young talented Portuguese driver.

As mentioned above, Campos Racing is also first in the teams’ classification on 165 points.

Valencia is a typical Mickey Mouse circuit with a rapid sequence of bends. It features a main straight not particularly long and starting grid position usually plays a key factor as overtaking maneuvers aren’t very common considering how equal performances are in F4 with 20 drivers separated by less than one second.

The timetable has scheduled two 40-minute long free practice sessions on Saturday morning with Q1 taking place at 14.45. Race 1, consisting of 25 minutes + 1 lap, is scheduled at 16.55. On Sunday, drivers will hit the track at 09.00 for Q2 with the remaining two races at 11.15 (18 minutes + 1 lap) and 14.45 (25 minutes + 1 lap). All times are CET. Racing action will be broadcasted live on F4 Spain channel on YouTube.

Adrián Campos (Campos Racing Team Principal): ““We head into Valencia for the third round of the season, which is a special appointment as it marks our home round on the calendar. The 2022 season is bringing us superb results so far. But we are ambitious and our goal is to continue the same amazing trend. When you race at home, in front of your crowd and fans, it always gives you extra morale. So, we want to see our drivers stepping onto the podium more and more.

Nikola Tsolov (Campos Racing driver of F4 Spain): “I’m very happy to be racing in Valencia this weekend since it’s a home race for the team. We were looking good in testing so our expectations should be high.”
