Campos Racing is delighted to announce the signing of Hugh Barter to join its F4 Spain Championship driver line-up during 2022. Japanese-Australian Barter will team up with Serbian Filip Jenić and Danish George Kelstrup, who were announced in previous weeks.

Barter is another emerging talent on the motorsport scene who was born in Nagoya (Japan) to a Japanese mother and Australian father. After starting his racing career in Karting in 2016, Barter made his debut in single-seater racing competing in the F4 FFSA Academy in France last year. Barter went immediately from points scorer to potential race winner claiming two wins and eight podiums during the season. As a result, he was Vice-Champion in the drivers’ standings.

Barter will now take another step forward in his racing career joining Campos Racing to drive a new halo-shod Tatuus T-021. His official debut with Campos Racing, just like his teammates Jenić and Kelstrup, will take place at Algarve International Circuit on 29 April-1 May.

Adrián Campos (Campos Racing Sporting Director): “It’s such a pleasure to have a vastly experienced F4 driver as Hugh, who was Vice-Champion in the French series last year. Our goal is to improve that result working together.”

Hugh Barter (Campos Racing driver of Formula 4 Spain): “I feel extremely excited and honoured to join such a prestigious and well known team. We will be giving it our all this year to come home with the championship title.”
