The young Mexican talent will contest his third season with the Alzira-based team and make his FIA Formula 3 debut, once again carrying the colors of the Red Bull Junior Team

Campos Racing is pleased to announce that Ernesto Rivera will continue as part of its structure, with the young Mexican prospect set to race in FIA Formula 3 next season. Rivera becomes the second driver confirmed for Campos Racing’s 2026 line-up, after Théophile Naël, in what will be a landmark year as the Spanish team enters the season as reigning champions following their recently secured title.
Rivera, who will turn seventeen on December 1, made the switch to single-seaters after a successful karting career, doing so with Campos Racing. His first outing, at the F4 Spain Winter Series, already saw him climb the podium—an early sign of what was to come. In 2024, he finished fifth overall in F4 Spain, claiming his maiden victory at the wheel of a Griffin Core by Campos Tatuus and adding several podium-finishes across the year.
Those results earned him a place in the Red Bull Junior Team, whose backing propelled him into a continental program in Eurocup-3 for 2025. Born in Mexico City, Rivera started the season with a podium at the Red Bull Ring and went on to add six further rostrum finishes, including two standout victories at legendary venues Monza and Spa-Francorchamps. With one round still to go at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (15-16 November), Rivera currently sits third in the championship with 176 points.
The 2026 FIA Formula 3 season will kick off in Melbourne on 7-8 March before heading to Sakhir (11-12 April). The European leg will get underway on the streets of Monaco (6-7 June), followed by a packed schedule: Barcelona (13-14 June), Spielberg (27-28 June), Silverstone (4-5 July), Spa-Francorchamps (18-19 July), and Hungaroring (25-26 July). After the summer break, the season resumes at Monza (5-6 September) and concludes at the brand-new Madring circuit in Madrid (12-13 September).
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “We are delighted to continue working with a driver of Ernesto’s talent. From our very first season together, he showed a remarkable ability to learn and improve, something that has already been evident at European level in 2025. Ernesto is still very young, yet he stands out for his maturity, consistency, and race management. FIA Formula 3 is a highly competitive championship, but with the joint effort of everyone involved, I am convinced that his rookie season will be at least as successful as the ones before it.”
Ernesto Rivera (Campos Racing Driver in FIA Formula 3): “I’m really excited to continue my journey with Campos Racing and the Red Bull Junior Team for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship season. This is a huge step forward in my career and I’m very grateful for the trust and support from both Campos Racing and Red Bull. We’ve built a really strong foundation together this season, and I can’t wait to keep learning, growing, and fighting for big results next year. I’ll give everything, both on and off the track, to make the most of this opportunity.”
