Campos Racing is ready for the final seventh and final round of the FIA Formula 3 Championship season, which takes place this weekend at Sochi Autodrom replacing the previously announce Austin. The feeder series is ready for another tripleheader of closely-fought racing action and Campos Racing will be aiming for strong results in Russia, following the strong performances delivered by the whole team in the second part of the season.

The three Campos Racing-run Dallara cars will be driven by young stars Lorenzo Colombo, Amaury Cordeel and László Tóth. Italian Colombo scored his first FIA F3 win at the Hungaroring despite a post-race five-second penalty denied it. Just a few weeks later, Colombo dominated race 1 on a soaked Spa-Francorchamps to cross the finish line as race winner. Belgian Cordeel has also improved his results throughout the season and he is in contention for top-ten finishes in the recent races despite several incidents prevented him from translating into points. Hungarian Tóth, who scored his best result at previous Zandvoort round, will also try to make it into the points.

The Sochi Autodrom, a semi-permanent circuit, is the fourth longest circuit on the calendar behind Spa-Francorchamps, Baku and Silverstone. The Russian venue isn’t especially demanding for tires due to its smooth asphalt and flowing layout. Maybe the single exception is the famous Turn 3, one of the toughest corners for the drivers. The track also features a series of 90-degrees corners, which is probably one of its well-known characteristics but its two long straights bring excellent opportunities to move past rivals in combination with DRS.

Free practice and qualifying sessions will take place on Friday at 07.55 and 12.00 respectively. The first two races will take place on Saturday at 7.35 and 12.40. Sunday will be devoted to weekend’s third and final race at 08.55. All times CET.

Adrián Campos-Suñer Torres (Campos Racing Sporting Director): “Our goal is to finish the 2021 in the best possible way. Of course, we have had ups and downs throughout the FIA Formula 3 season but it is important to underline that the path was always ascending. Historically, we were always competitive on Sochi, as we expect to translate our performance in good results.”

Lorenzo Colombo (Campos Racing driver of FIA Formula 3): “Finally we have the very Last round of the season ahead. Sochi is going to be a new track for me so I can’t wait to go there and do my best!”

Amaury Cordeel (Campos Racing driver of FIA Formula 3): “Last race of the season. First of all I would like to thank Campos Racing, my family, my partners and my management for this first year in F3. It was more difficult than I thought to adjust myself to the different demands and conditions of F3 racing. Every weekend the results became better and better but I know there are much more things I can improve. In Zandvoort we had the pace and I was very satisfied about the car. Let’s hope that in the last three races everything stays the same and that we can have several points-paying finishes.”

László Tóth (Campos Racing driver of FIA Formula 3): “I’m really looking forward to drive in Sochi. I have never been to Russia and never drove on the track so this will be a new experience for me. I can´t wait!”
