Campos Racing has ended the FIA Formula 3’s preseason testing with excellent prospects ahead of the season opener on the same circuit next month. Pepe Martí, Hugh Barter and Christian Mansell carried out three positive days of testing gathering valuable data for the upcoming season. The young talents of Campos Racing, closely working with their engineers and mechanics, completed hundreds of laps in Sakhir running in qualifying and long stints simulations.

On Tuesday, Spaniard Martí rapidly proved that he was one of the drivers to follow throughout the week. Martí was 5th in the morning session with a lap time of 1m49.500s. In the afternoon, when all drivers improved their lap times, Martí lowered to 1m48.125s to finish 3rd in the timesheets. Australian Mansell posted a best lap of 1m48.792s and Japanese-Australian Barter clocked a time of 1m48.796s.

Day 2 saw Martí as the fastest man of Campos Racing in the morning lapping in 1m47.419s. Barter also managed to break the 1m48s barrier and put a lap together of 1m47.645s with Mansell setting a lap of 1m48.158s. In the second session, Martí finished 8th with his lap of 1m48.489s. Similarly, Mansell and Barter did set excellent race pace as well.

On the final day, Campos Racing continued on the same positive path. Barter clocked a lap time of 1m47.704s to finish 5th at the end. Martí finished two places further adrift with a personal best of 1m47.789s. Finally, Mansell posted a lap of 1m48.479s.

On the whole, it left very promising feedback ahead of the first two events in Bahrain and Australia. There are two other collective tests in April right before the championship arrives in Europe.
