Friday has brought the curtain down on the FIA Formula 3 Championship collective test, which has taken place over the course of two days at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Campos Racing has entered its three cars for Pepe Martí, Christian Mansell and Hugh Barter at the wheel of their Dallara F3 machinery. Both days served to gather valuable information both in qualifying laps and long runs simulations. At the end, Campos Racing completed 334 laps with their three drivers.

On Thursday, local driver Martí already put himself among the top-ten fastest drivers with his lap time of 1m27.806s in the morning session. Japanese-Australian Barter clocked a lap time of 1m28.511s with Mansell right behind with a personal best lap of 1m28.523s. In the afternoon, Martí took the seventh spot in the timesheets with a time of 1m28.298s. Barter and Mansell also continued the hard-work day putting more mileage under their belt.

The second and final day resulted in a similarly positive outcome. In the morning, Martí and Mansell posted the fifth and sixth fastest times with laps of 1m26.638s and 1m26.663s respectively. Barter’s best effort was a lap of 1m27.064s. Martí also made it into the top-ten in the afternoon with a lap of 1m30.126s. Mansell clocked a best lap of 1m31.252s and Barter put together a lap of 1m32.222s, they all focusing on race pace simulations.

After the first two rounds, which took place in Bahrain and Australia, Martí sits in fifth place in the standings on 25 points. The Spaniard also secured his maiden win in the series in Sakhir. Campos Racing is also fifth in the teams’ standings.

The first European event is scheduled at Imola circuit on 20-21 May.
