Campos Racing will contest another round of the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship season, which heads to England for eighth round in the frame of the iconic British F1 Grand Prix. For a second consecutive weekend, the Alzira-based racing team will be competing in another double-header of the second tier of single-seater racing in the FIA Global Pathway.

Ralph Boschung and Kush Maini are ready to fight back following recent tough races of the Formula 2-based series. Swiss Boschung put in two valuable recovery drives at Red Bull Ring but, unfortunately, he couldn’t make it into the points on Austrian soil. Boschung, a race winner earlier in the season, will be pushing for producing strong results on the British Isles. Maini, one of most competitive rookie drivers in the field, will be another driver to closely follow. The Indian talent, a solid points scorer and even a podium visitor on his debut, didn’t have Lady Luck on his side in the last races but his goal is to put himself up the front once again.

Silverstone is built on the site of a WWII airfield situated 4 miles south of Towcester in Northamptonshire. No doubts, the British circuit is one of the world’s best and well-known race tracks as it hosted the first World Championship Formula 1 race back in 1950. Over the years, the layout has significantly changed but its nature remains the same as a high-speed circuit. Famous bends such as Becketts or Maggots continue featuring a challenge for drivers, cars and tires due to huge lateral acceleration forces. Asphalt abrasion isn’t particularly high but tire stress is certainly a key factor due to above mentioned high-speed corners.

Both free practice and qualifying sessions will take place on Friday at 11:05 and 16:05 respectively. Saturday’s Sprint race is scheduled at 14:15 with Sunday’s Feature race taking place at 10:55. All times are CET.

Adrián Campos (Campos Racing Team Principal): “After a couple of races with a bit of bad luck on our side, we are definitely expecting to be back in the game at Silverstone, one of the most famous names on the international motorsport scene. Silverstone is a very demanding race track, besides weather may also play a key role over the weekend. We really hope that Ralph and Kush will be back up the front this weekend.”

Ralph Boschung (Campos Racing Driver of FIA Formula 2): “I don’t have the best memories from Silverstone last year as I was forced to withdraw the weekend due to my neck injury. I really hope I can make up this season. Silverstone is a very challenging track with a lot of high-speed corners. In my opinion, there will be plenty of management to do with tires. Besides, the weather can also play a role. Maybe we could get some rain. If we are able to complete a good qualifying session, hopefully we can score some points.”

Kush Maini (Campos Racing Driver of FIA Formula 2): “I’m looking forward to Silverstone. We experienced a tough weekend at Red Bull Ring but I and the team have work over the last days to get back where we should be in the races. I really love the track with sections such as Maggots and Becketts. Let’s see what we can do this weekend but I’m super excited.”
