The Bulgarian driver will get an early official debut in the category by taking part in the final two rounds of the 2025 championship, gaining valuable experience ahead of next season. Tsolov will drive the car previously raced by Pepe Martí, who has recently been confirmed as a new FIA Formula E driver
Campos Racing is delighted to announce that Nikola Tsolov will join its FIA Formula 2 team for the final two rounds of the season, scheduled to take place at Lusail International Circuit (November 29–30) and Yas Marina Circuit (December 6–7).
Tsolov, who was already confirmed a few weeks ago as a Campos Racing driver for 2026, will therefore make an early debut in the category, taking the wheel of the F2 car previously driven by Pepe Martí. The Spaniard, recently announced as a new FIA Formula E driver, will be unable to combine both programs, which has opened the door for Tsolov’s early step up to FIA F2.
Known as the “Bulgarian Lion,” Tsolov recently claimed the runner-up spot in the FIA Formula 3 Championship as a member of the Red Bull Junior Team—the same colors under which he will move up to the higher category in just a few weeks’ time. Following the two events in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, the category will hold three days of post-season collective testing from December 10 to 12 at Yas Marina Circuit, laying the groundwork for the upcoming campaign.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “First of all, I would like to thank Pepe for all these years together since he made his debut with us in F4 Spain and later in FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2. We’ve shared incredible moments, a great number of victories and podiums side by side, and on behalf of everyone at Campos Racing, I wish him all the best for the future. For Nikola, this represents a fantastic opportunity to begin his adaptation to the category—and to do so in real race conditions. We are already working hard with him so that he arrives as well prepared as possible for Lusail, which will be his first outing in an FIA Formula 2 car.”
Nikola Tsolov (Campos Racing driver in FIA Formula 2): “It’s a pleasant surprise to be making my FIA Formula 2 debut already this year for the final two rounds! I’m very grateful to Campos Racing and Red Bull for their trust and for giving me this opportunity. I’ve been working extremely hard and feel ready to take this step. I’m looking forward to learning as much as possible and gaining valuable experience ahead of 2026.”
