The FIA Formula 2 collective testing came to an end in style for Campos Racing as their drivers Ralph Boschung and Kush Maini finished regularly in the top-five at the Bahrain International Circuit. Swiss Boschung and Indian Maini delivered excellent performances completing the scheduled testing programme in a very promising way, that’s is lapping in competitive lap times both in qualifying and race runs. As a result, it’s possible to glean some pretty clues about the overall performance of the team.

Boschung made a very positive start on Tuesday when he finished 3rd in the morning session with a best lap time of 1m45.652s. Maini also succeeded to make it into the top-ten with his lap of 1m46.131s. As track conditions severely improved in the afternoon, both Campos Racing drivers lowered their best attempts. Finally, Swiss Boschung took 4th spot in the timesheets with a lap of 1m42.569s and Indian Maini clocked a lap time of 1m43.046s.

On day 2, Boschung kept pedal to the metal to finish 2nd-fastest in the morning session with his best lap of 1m46.181s. His teammate Maini, after completing a mammoth run of 50 laps in a single session, took ninth place with a time of 1m47.663s. Just like happened the day before, lap times improved in the second session. In such circumstances, Boschung put himself in the top-five once again with a lap time of 1m42.489s and Maini followed his footsteps with a personal best of 1m42.700s.

Thursday brought the curtain down with Campos Racing being the dominant force in both sessions. In the morning, Boschung led the way with his time of 1m45.027s and Maini repeated in the afternoon securing the first place for Campos Racing with a lap of 1m42.623s.

The official FIA Formula 2 testing was a powerful morale booster for the whole team ahead of the curtain-raiser event of the series in Sakhir next month.
