The young Miami-born talent will take part in the upcoming Eurocup-3 season at the wheel of one of GriffinCore Campos Racing’s Dallara 326-Toyota cars. Powell, who boasts an outstanding career first in karting and later in single-seaters, is shaping up as another name to watch closely ahead of the exciting 2026 campaign
GriffinCore Campos Racing is delighted to announce the signing of Alex Powell for the 2026 Eurocup-3 season. The American driver will race one of the Alzira-based squad’s Dallara 326-Toyota cars, becoming the third driver confirmed by GriffinCore Campos Racing after Thomas Strauven and Patrick Heuzenroeder.
Powell was born in Miami, Florida, and holds dual American and Jamaican nationality. With speed running in his genes — his father was a rally driver — it comes as no surprise that he made his competitive debut at just eight years old in his home country. After achieving highly promising results in the United States, Powell moved to Europe to compete in the 60 Mini category in Italy. Since then, the young American prospect has built an impressive résumé, winning prestigious events such as the WSK Final Cup, South Garda Winter Cup, Trofeo Margutti and Champions of the Future. In addition, he claimed the runner-up position in the 2022 CIK-FIA Karting European Championship and finished third the following year.
His first steps in single-seater racing came in 2023 with his debut in Formula 4. It was in the 2024 Italian F4 Championship where Powell truly made his mark, being crowned Rookie Champion with ten victories while also finishing fifth overall in the standings. In 2025, the new GrffinCore Campos Racing driver continued to add to his achievements by securing the runner-up spot in the F4 Middle East Championship, claiming five wins and stepping onto the podium on eight occasions. Furthermore, in his appearances in Euro 4, he collected three additional podium finishes in just nine races.
Adrián Campos (Team Principal of Campos Racing): “It is a real pleasure to have a driver of Alex’s talent in our ranks. He undoubtedly has enormous potential, and we will work closely together to ensure it can be fully realized throughout 2026 with the best possible results for everyone. His debut in Eurocup-3 comes at exactly the right moment in his sporting career, and I am convinced that the new season will bring us many great moments. We now have several weeks of intense work and effort ahead of us to arrive at the opening round with the best possible understanding of the new Dallara 326-Toyota, which will undoubtedly be one of the key factors this year.”
Alex Powell (GriffinCore Campos Racing driver in Eurocup-3): “I am very proud and excited to join GriffinCore Campos Racing for the upcoming season. They are an amazing team, and I have been incredibly welcomed since day one. I look forward to working with them and reaching new heights together.”
